A
Place for Fellowship/Family Environment
This
is a safe and enjoyable place to visit and share fellowship.
It is for all members of the school Family, their families,
and other friends and supporters. The school Family includes
graduates, those who were at the Home and left before graduating,
present students, and former and present school employees.
We maintain a family environment here, and request that
those who avail themselves of the site assist us in assuring
that we are successful in this. MHSAA has designed its Bulletin
Boards to provide our school Family with a pleasant and
fun place for all. Because the site is available to thousands
of members of MHSAA and to a broad range of individuals,
including children, the Bulletin Boards need some policies
and practices to follow. MHSAA calls these our "Forum
Rules" Our separate Chat Room and all Forums (including
the Mature Discussion Forum) are subject to these rules,
and some specific Forums and the Chat Room may have some
additional rules that you must read and agree to abide by
before you enter them.
If
You Need Help
This
site is here to help. If you need technical assistance or
help, please post your request on the General Discussion
Forum. Many times other users can provide all the necessary
help you may need. We recommend this interaction and mutual
sharing, in keeping with the founding principles of MHSAA.
Commercial
Posts Rule
Do
not post commercial advertising messages or solicitations
in forums or during live chats. Any URL containing a referral
code or referral address may be edited or deleted, if the
code or address is considered advertising in the sole discretion
of the Moderators or Administrators. Listing of any URL
in a signature is limited to only "home pages"
that include no advertising or referral links. Links to
businesses or pages with advertising are prohibited in signatures.
No "blind or hidden" referral links are allowed.
Referral links are not allowed in your Profile since this
is considered a "public" area.
No
Attack Policy
MHSAA
will not condone users attacking each other to a degree
where it goes beyond spirited debate. This includes the
making of threats, ridiculing others, making false statements
about others, purposely annoying others, or commencing threads
whose sole purpose is to elicit attack. Also, we expect
posts to be clean and to contain no expletives, profanity,
or links to offensive sites. If you wish to change the subject
of a thread entirely, start a new thread and do not simply
change the subject of someone else's thread. Please respect
each member's desire to receive and review posts on their
threads which relate to the topic he or she introduced.
Posts may be reviewed and will be edited or deleted at the
sole discretion of our Moderators or Administrators. No
member of this community should make inappropriate contact
with another member of this community as a result of activity
which occurs in this shared space; i.e., spirited debate
on the Forums is acceptable, but extending that debate beyond
the Forums will not be tolerated.
Online
Conduct
Profanity,
expletives, and vulgarity are forbidden. Direct personal
attacks are strictly forbidden. This includes inappropriate
name-calling and conduct of a persistently annoying nature,
where it goes beyond spirited debate or good-natured joking.
Conduct
which in MHSAA's view restricts or inhibits the use of this
site by any other member or visitor is forbidden. MHSAA
reserves the right to pursue any and all legal and equitable
remedies against you, including the posting of your address
and the reporting of your activity to MHSAA's partners,
your Internet Service Provider (ISP), or other authorities
as MHSAA feels warranted under the relevant circumstances.
This includes, in particular, the making of any inappropriate
contact with a member or that member's place of business,
friends, or family as a result of communications on this
site.
Any
material in any post that MHSAA determines to be unsuitable
for our forum will be edited or deleted at the discretion
of MHSAA or the site's Moderators or Administrators. An
E-mail will be sent to any member who has had a post deleted
or edited for any reason within a reasonable time of that
editing or deletion. On occasion, a post or a thread will
be moved to the mature discussion section at the discretion
of the Moderators. Any notice as required in this paragraph
will be sent to the address displayed in a member's Profile.
Maintaining current the Profile E-mail address is a member's
responsibility. If an entire thread is deleted, only the
member who posted the original message will be notified.
The
non-enforcement by MHSAA of any right or provision under
these terms and conditions or of any rule will not constitute
a waiver of such right, provision, or rule.
Enforcement
of Site Rules
Whether
a violation of these rules has a occurred shall be decided
by a committee of three Moderators, one of whom shall be
an MHSAA Board member selected by the Board, and two of
whom shall be selected by the MHSAA Board and the MHSAA
Executive Director from amongst a group of members of the
Bulletin Board community who volunteer to serve as Moderators.
The latter two Moderators shall serve terms of three months'
duration, but are not prohibited from serving subsequent
terms. The MHSAA Board member shall serve at the discretion
of the MHSAA Board.
Anyone
who wishes to lodge a complaint about an alleged violation
of these rules should do so by E-mailing the complaint -
including a copy of the allegedly offending message - to
any one or more of the Moderators or to the site Administrator,
the latter of whose address is execdir@mhsaa.org. The Moderators
and Administrator will not police the site for violations.
However, the Moderators or Administrators may themselves
lodge complaints should they feel it appropriate. The identity
of anyone lodging a complaint shall remain strictly confidential.
Once a complaint is lodged, the Moderators shall decide
by majority vote whether the allegation does in fact constitute
a rule violation.
If
a violation is found, the first offense shall result in
a two-week suspension. The second offense shall result in
a one-month suspension. The third offense shall result in
a three-month suspension. The fourth offense shall result
in a full removal of all posting privileges, and with the
offender thereafter needing the permission of the MHSAA
Board in order to obtain reinstatement. In any instance
where at least one Moderator believes that a violation has
occurred, the alleged violator shall be issued a warning
about the offending conduct even though no suspension occurs.
Determinations
as to whether a violation has occurred may be appealed to
the Board of Directors of MHSAA by either the subject of
the alleged violation or by the person alleging the violation.
In the event of an appeal, the MHSAA Executive Committee
shall have full authority to review the Moderators' decisions
and to either support, modify, or set aside that decision.
Any
attempt by anyone entering this site to harvest e-mail and/or
other information about our members, affiliates or visitors
is prohibited and will be dealt with to the fullest extent
of the law.
The
site will not be monitored for content and no one will be
in violation of these rules merely for expressing an opinion
that may be contrary to the religious, political, or social
views of other members of this community or contrary to
the official positions of MHSAA. However, profanity or the
purposeful attack on anyone on account of race, creed, gender,
ethnicity, national origin, or sexual orientation shall
constitute a violation of the rules of this site.
MHSAA
is not liable for the content of any posts. We do not verify
or endorse as true any information posted by a member. Please
see our Site Disclaimer for additional statements regarding
liability.
No
forum may become a part of, nor utilized by, any campaign
for or against any company or site to the BBB, the FTC,
or any other organization except as endorsed by MHSAA. MHSAA
is not opposed to the expression of opinions, within our
discretion, but using this site to organize a petition,
group of names, or campaign for any purpose other than as
determined by MHSAA will not be allowed. Posts or links
of this nature will be deleted.
No
posts are allowed concerning the acquisition, sale, or trading
of guns, firearms, contraband, or other similar or related
transactions or any illegal transactions.
These
rules have been promulgated by the duly-elected Board of
Directors of the Milton Hershey School Alumni Association,
in an effort to provide our members with the kind of environment
which we all desire. MHSAA reserves the right to change
any of these rules at any time at its sole discretion, and
nothing stated herein is in anyway binding on MHSAA either
now or in the future. Furthermore, should consistent and
general violations of the rules occur to a degree where
the Moderators are not able to maintain an appropriate environment
on the Forums, MHSAA will suspend or terminate the operation
of the Forums.

Your

purposes of this website, but we may contact you at another
address if listed in your Profile.
PLEASE
always include your User Name, real name, and other contact

Mature
Discussion Forum
The Mature Discussion Forum is for posting of discussion
threads that deal with more mature subject matter, including
questions related to such. MHSAA is particularly concerned
that these topics not be made readily available to minors
or to other individuals who may be easily offended by mature
subject matter. To access these threads, each member must
qualify for access (by age or any other consideration determined
by MHSAA). Even after access has been granted, each individual
is free to decide whether to access these threads. DO NOT
POST DISCUSSION THREADS, MESSAGES, OR QUESTIONS THAT DEAL
WITH MATURE SUBJECTS ON ANY BULLETIN BOARD OTHER THAN THE
MATURE DISCUSSION BOARD, OR THEY WILL BE REMOVED AND THE
OFFENDER DULY SANCTIONED. ALL FORUM RULES LISTED ABOVE APPLY
EQUALLY TO THE MATURE DISCUSSION FORUM
