David Reed, HIS '48, died January 24, 2010 in Kerrville, Texas. Following graduation, David spent nearly 30 years in the US Navy, then retired to Fredericksburg, Texas. David is survived by his wife Leona and their four daughters, five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
David was an uncle whom - regrettably - I never really knew, but was always an inspiration and influence that led me to campaign my Mom to send me to MHS when my Dad died . His beautiful family (whom I also regret never getting to really know) is a living testament to his legacy of the attributes of character that "The Home" provided us all, - no matter our view of the School and our own circumstances. May all graduates realize his success! Thanks, David.
