Elwood "Woody" V. Jones, 61, of Hershey, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010, in the Hershey Medical Center. Born in Harrisburg on January 8, 1949, he was the son of the late Elwood Hocker and Stella Randolph Jones. Woody was a truck driver and retired from W.R. Grace, FL, where he worked as a maintenance mechanic in the phosphate mines. He was a 1966 graduate of Milton Hershey High School, where he played numerous sports including football and hockey. Woody was a US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW Post #9639, Shellsville, and the American Legion Post #751, Enola. He also enjoyed watching football, hockey, and playing cards. Woody is survived by his wife of 37 years, Audrey L. Arnold Jones, whom he married on February 11, 1972; one daughter, Holly K. Jones of Florida; two sons, Kenneth A. Jones of Hershey, and Joseph E. Jones of Florida; one sister, Janet K. Sandurck wife of Allen of Fairport, New York; one brother, William L. Jones husband of Sandy of Mt. Pleasant Mills, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Kenneth Alan Jones, Jr., Kayla Jones, Donald Scott Jones, Dionna Sowder, and Alyessia C. Boltz; and best friend, Roy Frazel of Grantville. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at 12:30 PM in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, East Hanover Township, with The Rev. Dr. Emlyn H. Jones, officiating. A viewing will be held Wednesday in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
