Milton Hershey School welcomes the local community to attend public events on Saturday, May 9, during the School’s Spring Family Weekend celebration.
From 8 AM to 12 PM, visitors can stop by the School’s Horticultural Center, located at 503 Meadow Lane, for a tour and the opportunity to purchase perennials and houseplants at a student sale.
The tour will feature a visit to the campus apiary and a look at the School’s 2009 Monarch Watch Butterfly Garden, as well as stops in the School’s greenhouses where hundreds of plants are in bloom. The plant sale will feature more than two-dozen varieties of perennials and a number of houseplants, all raised by students.
Also on Saturday, the MHS production of Peter Pan takes place at 7 PM in the Founders Hall Auditorium. Admission is free. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Based upon Sir James M. Barrie’s 1904 play about the boy who refuses to grow up, the story begins in the London nursery of Wendy, John, and Michael Darling, where Peter Pan visits them. With the help of his tiny friend, the fairy Tinkerbell, Peter takes the three children on a magical flight to Neverland.
